In order that all residents at Futuna Village can enjoy their environment, certain rules exist that govern townhouse living in our residential complex. The most common rules relate to the following topics:Use of the Village Green and Bush Reserve
The common green and reserve is for the use and enjoyment of all residents. It can be used for any reasonable recreational purpose, but not unreasonably interfering with the use by others and not annoy, be a nuisance, endanger, injure or damage other residents' properties. Consideration must be shown to other residents, especially those in neighbouring properties. Use of these facilities are at the owners' own risk and repair of any damage caused to the property will be to the account of the person(s) who caused the damage.

Grounds and Gardening A garden maintenance firm has been contracted to keep the common areas tidy, including the village green lawn, bush reserve, stream and Lot 100 garden strip. Each owner is responsible for maintaining their own garden. Any suggestions for future work or planting should be made to a committee member or by email to gardening@futuna.co.nz. It would be appreciated if you would keep the area outside your propertyt swept and tidy. Please do not throw cigarette butts into the common areas.

Parking Parking space within Futuna Village is very limited, with only one garage per townhouse and an additional car park attached in only a few cases. Limited visitor parking is available as indicated on the Futuna Map. This visitor parking is part of the common property, which is provided for the benefit of all residents and their guests. Although kerbside parking may be permissable, it should be remembered that for the most part, this is common property. The practical rule is to ensure that any vehicles, whether they belong to residents or their guests, are parked in a manner that does not block access or cause undue inconvenience to other residents or emergency vehicles. Water outlets for emergency fire services are clearly marked with yellow paint and must not be obstructed at any time. If the emergency services are unable to gain access to Futuna they will remove offending vehicles at full risk to the owner of the vehicle. Similarly, parking adjacent to the intersections and roundabouts must be avoided. The committee reserves the right to have offending vehicles towed away at the vehicle owner's risk and cost.

Speeding There are many young children and elderly people living in Futuna and a speed limit of 20 km/h applies to all the roads, and will be strictly enforced. Please ensure that you and your guests observe the speed limit for everybody's safety. The alternative, which we are trying to avoid, is to have "speed bumps" installed.

Recycling and Rubbish Collection Rubbish and recycling collections are made on Wednesday mornings. Wheelie bins are provided as part of the annual levy. In addition to the usual rubbish collection, an OWIAK truck will also collect rubbish suitable for recycling. All such rubbish should be left outside your property by 7am each Wednesday, preferably in a green recycling bin or in plastic bags. This arrangement has been made in response to requests for recycling to be available to the residents. The recycling bins can be purchased from the Wellington City Council.
